This is Pt.1 to my third visit to Power Park Fitness in Spring Branch, Texas. Perfect place to practice for upcoming Spartans...
I found the UPPER course.....But, I forgot my knee brace....
If you're here, you know I've been on a journey to be healthy again. In May, my son invited me to do a Spartan race with him. That was on a Friday. The race was the next day. It was only a 5k Sprint, and while I did cross the finish line.... it was clear sign of how out of shape I'd become. Of the 20 obstacles, I think I only completed 5 or 6. Oh, let me add that it was 100+ during our race....
With that said.... I'm a gluten for punishment. the next day, I signed up for the 10k Super in Dallas this October and the 21k Beast in San Antonio this November.
I'm down nearly 25lbs since that race, and I meet up with my trainer three days a week, in addition to going to the gym 5 days a week.
Power Park Fitness was recommended to me in an OCR(Obstacle Course Racing) group I joined. I wanted a way to practice for the obstacles in the Spartans, and gage just how bad I am and need to focus on... Basically, upper body, core, and grip strength...
PPF is an outdoor OCR and indoor ninja course training park. Working out in the gym is nowhere the same as performing outdoors. So, if you're interested in my journey, enjoy the ride... Ignore my BAD singing, being out of breath, the NEAR fall FLAT ON MY FACE.... Oh, and the debacle in the tunnel.. Which is Pretty FUNNY.......
