Only heard about this lad after talking about Sephiroth and lineage in the Malos vid...A lot of people try and pitch him as Sephiroth's 'older brother' of sorts since does technically predate everyone in that design lineage by a lot, but his original design was actually nothing like the black-caped man. Granpappy Magus inspired Sephiroth sure, indubitably even, but Psaro is retroactively conformed to the archetype bc makin sephiroths was just the cool thing to do. Though I *do* think there's a potential plot justification, since he introduces earlier setpieces that you could possibly say influenced A) Sephiroth's long buildup in the OG (Psaro is barely present and mostly spoken of by NPCs), B) the trail of blood (Alena finding the castle abandoned and silent) and C) the razing of Nibelheim (the razing of the Hidden Valley).
Anyway, none of that is important. Basically I just couldn't find any easily-accessible or good quality compilations of Psaro so I quickly played through DQ4 and did my own.
