For Audrey Basic, RN, MS, CNIII, nursing is rooted in compassion, teamwork, and being present for patients on their hardest days. In caring for critically ill cardiac patients and mentoring fellow nurses, she has helped create a culture of confidence, support, and exceptional care at UCSF.

Audrey is the recipient of the 2026 Chancellor Award for Public Service.
