An order of protection was granted to benefit the victim of a sex offender facing new charges in a child sex crime case.
Level 3 sex offender James M. DeSantis, 45, appeared in Onondaga County Court on Tuesday. He is facing charges of attempted rape, luring a child, two counts of sexual abuse, coercion, two counts of aggravated sexual abuse, stalking and disseminating indecent material to a minor.
Onondaga County Prosecutor Jarrett Woodfork noted that, per Judge Matthew Doran's order, the defense will not be able to share the details of the order of protection with DeSantis. Notably, any identification information. DeSantis's copy of the order will be redacted.
