Dry, dusty days = greater risk of Valley fever.
People and pets in California can get Valley fever by breathing in a fungus found in outdoor dust and dirt, especially in and around the Central Valley and Central Coast.
When it’s dusty outside:
- Stay inside if you can
- Wear an N95 mask if you work outside in dusty conditions
