Once in a while, I take a walk in the park to take a break from the stress I can't quite tame.
Finding a bench, I kick back for a while and watch the people who are doing much the same.
Now and then a child flashes me a smile. Each time they do, my heart's aglow.
Sometimes as we grow, we forget to show a friendly smile to someone who we don't know.
In the park at dawn, colored clouds keep passing on.
When the sun is high, leafy trees make shade for me out on the lawn.
Evening time comes, and all the young kids go home, and once the park becomes dark, I find I'm there sitting alone.
Beautiful stars shine bright on warm and clear nights, and they remind me just how much is yet unknown.
Once I return to home at last, the sights and sounds that I had passed while walking there through the park remind me how I should feel in my heart.
So when I walk, instead of hiding, I show my smile as I walk; a simple thing.
Sometimes that's just the thing a person may need, to bear their spirits up much more than anything.
When I smile at them, they return the smile just like they did when they were young.
