Cause it's been a year since I posted a track in my PROPHET REV2 SynthWorkX series. Here is a new one. It will hopefully take you on spherical ride. All patches, including the kickdrum, are straight out of the Prophet REV2 synth, by Dave Smith Instruments. At the end of this video you'll find an overview of the specific patches I used.
I compose and mix in Cubase Pro, using the Prophet REV2 as a Desktop plug-in through midi. That way one can automate all Prophet CC# parameters in Cubase. Unfortunately only one track at a time can be played this way. I would need about 20 individual Prophet Desktop versions for this one to play all instrument tracks at once. So, I compose an instrument track, render it to audio and move on to the next layer, that's how I literally build these SynthWorkX songs.
I find my synthworkx inspiration listening to Kraftwerk, Jean-Michel Jarre, Tom Holkenborg, Colin Benders and Jan Hammer. Being a dance/trance music lover also has it influences. Next to that I use classical counterpoint in my synthworkx also.
Be well,
Jeff Hijlkema
