OpteX has made some really nice parts in several megacollabs in recent years, including "Quaoar" hosted by me. This is his next project, which is gonna be fully decorated by him. It's very exciting to see a creator known for really nice megacollab parts take on making a full level, especially now with 2.2 tools. I wouldn't call this a fullblown solo level, though, as Marwec made a good portion of the gameplay. That does make it one in visuals at least.
So far, "Prominence" is looking really good. It's got the sleek and unique block designs I've seen in many of his megacollab parts, featuring some sick details and color usage. The backgrounds also fit in perfectly with some cool patterns and effects to go with them. These effects, in addition to the color pulses and structure movements, make the visuals dynamic in synchronization to the song. I also really like the transitions between the parts seen in this preview, such as at 0:21 and 0:32. These do cover the whole screen, though, making the gameplay right after blind. I think OpteX is gonna make the gameplay right after these a bit easier for the final level, which will help. There was also another minor gameplay issue that he will fix. Visually, I don't really have any complaints, and I'm excited to see how the rest of the parts turn out. Expect a video of the full level once it's done. As a sidenote, when uploading this I realized I uploaded an OpteX level, "Hex", in 2018. You should definitely check it out to see how far he's come.

Its been a while since Zoroas last level, at least the last serious one that I uploaded on the channel. That was Carpe Lucem released in March 2022. 1.5 years of no releases is quite a lot for someone who was consistently releasing at least a handful of levels every year for several years of 2.1. However, Id say the wait was well worth it. This is probably my favorite Zoroa level.
As usual from Zoroa, there are several cool effects to be found throughout the level. This time around, though, I find many of them to be even smoother and cooler. For example, some are used for sick transitions, such as at 0:47 and 1:35, while others are seen in the backgrounds at 0:51 and 1:02. The former examples are particularly neat, as they make each pair of parts perfectly connected to each other. All of these examples also feel like theyre from the same level, which can be said for the rest of the level and its parts too. There is a clear space theme to some parts, and while some parts have more of a mechanical design to them, this is something I interpreted as a spaceship or a space station. This makes the level as a whole come together much nicer than previous Zoroa levels that were a bit more random from part to part. The block design is quite good too, especially in the aforementioned mechanical parts, such as at 0:14. As for the colors, it has the mixing and pulsing youd expect from a space themed level, so theres not much to complain about there either.
I gave this a shot in practice despite this being recorded by Floppy, and I have to say that its quite tricky. It will definitely be a Hard Demon in difficulty. This is because of some memory and many hard timings, especially in the fast-paced wave parts (dual or not). Wave is probably my personal worst game mode in terms of skill, so its not a good mix with me. The final timing, seen at 1:52, is quite tricky whether you go for the coin or not. I cant say Im a fan of putting timings like this at the end, and I could already see myself dying there. If you dont mind that and like challenging wave and some memory, this is definitely worth trying. I hope to see Zoroa make more levels at this level of quality in the future. It will definitely get an Epic rating.
