Book One of Janny Wurts' Wars of Light and Shadow is Curse of the Mistwraith (although, oddly enough sometimes it is listed as The Curse of the Mistwraith). An 11 book fantasy epic spanning five centuries it is on of those fantasy series that fans of epic fantasy should at the very least take a try at.
In the spirit of that, I take a look at the prologue to the book to give you a sense of what Wurts' writing is like, and what we might pick up from the framing of this vast, epic story.
