PROJECT BRUTALITY 3.0 together with Project Slipgate Remastered by TheSolution on Man And A Half difficulty level for DOOM 2 Hell On Earth, Chaotic Random spawn preset, 100% Secrets achieved. Project Brutality 3.0 is an upcoming version of one of the best available mods for the classic Doom - expect a lot of fun when playing it. Please note that the Project Brutality 3.0 in its current state is still Work In Progress, so bugs are to be expected, together with crashes to desktop (same with addons, they are not 100% always compatible and actual). Project Slipgate Remastered Demo has four incredibly detailed levels set across Quake II climax maps, mappack is also really huge because it weighs over 400MB and has high quality textures with sound effects and music inside. The difficulty of this WAD is moderate, there are not really difficult ambushes where you are stormed by for example dozens of Hell Knights or Revenants at the same time, think more of a casual/vanilla DOOM or Quake approach to player. Of course there are some surprises waiting for you such as invisible monsters (they are the same monsters as always but they have an invisible flag) that reveal only once attacking you and quite frankly, lots of them are Arch-Viles. It is more a WAD that focuses on the atmosphere than actions, the monster amount is not huge on every map (never exceeds 200, most of the times lower than 100), it's good to have a flashlight addon always ready to use. Some of the sections are also really long and you must wait (thus I had to cut the video in some places because waiting might be problematic) and it's good to familiarize yourself with layout because it is easy to feel lost. There are also some custom assets/triggers for you to be used, for example you must power up the portal with a battery found just nearby, otherwise you will not activate an exit teleporter and one last remaining monster. The third level might feel the smallest because only there are 20+ monsters just at the beginning but because of that nasty surprise at the end (I will not spoil to you) it's easy to fail the map, especially with PB monsters around. Once you reach an 'escape' there is a last final map where we leave Quake II techbase setting for good and head straight to Hell for a final boss and his minions waiting for us but in my opinion the final confronation is thankfully not that hard. It is really good for you (player) to find as many secrets as possible because they mostly have Backpacks, Plasma Rifles, Soulspheres, Megaarmors, Rocket Launchers and other stuff way earlier than during the normal playthrough.

Project Brutality 3.0 is an upcoming version of one of the best available mods for the classic Doom - expect a lot of fun when playing it. Please note that the Project Brutality 3.0 in its current state is still Work In Progress, so bugs are to be expected, together with crashes to desktop (same with addons, they are not 100% always compatible and actual). Second part of the Circles of Hell episode where we enter even more complex stages with much more monsters than before, expect really heavy fighting to come, the demons are pretty much everywhere so be warned. Not only the enemies want you dead while exploring the maps but level design does it too, expect crushing ceiling in a lot of places around maps, same with burning hot lava and places where you can simply fall down and stuck. You must prepare yourself for a really tough fighting when playing, lots of the encounters are really cranked up to eleven, monsters suddenly appearing from walls, sudden Revenant just next to your face, you name it. When some places involve you reaching a place and then returning, you most likely can expect a much worse trip back because some doors with dozens of monsters are going to open for sure, trust me this is really hard. You will notice that there are tons of ammo and weapons laying around together with health and armor bonuses, this is because of no Zombies or Former Humans at all, Hell is exclusively filled only with demon enemies so no ammo drops from them. The mappack is pretty demanding if you want to play it with gameplay mods for sure, you must turn on the dynamic lighting and shadowmaps because its suggested by the author, so for the best climax and aesthetics this is surely needed. If you want to survive such onslaughts you really need to find as many secrets as possible and there plenty of them, most of the times these are small rooms or alcoves nicely hidden behind fake walls with plenty of ammo or health. Levels are fairly large and complex, if you hated the E3M7 Limbo from Ultimate Doom, the recreation of it here is even more complex and longer, there is a large hall in the center with 8 doors leading to various places on map. For me this is surely one of the most difficult episodes/mappacks Ive ever played, mostly because of these nasty traps with crushing ceilings that can take you by a surprise, together with lots of monsters spawning anywhere.

The Reckoning episode contains three very nicely looking maps to play for you, all of them can be difficult because some places on maps are quite to overcome and you must think a while how to not get killed while moving. First map begins with you in the middle of the small room with several monsters in the next room, you can also activate a secret instantly by turning around and shooting a button on the wall, it will open a wall with backpack in room nearby. Depending on your luck while playing PB you might also get a weapon upgrade, it is quite crucial because being low on ammo pretty sucks and trust me you will need it for such situations like room full of 30-40 monsters, a quite small room. The first level has only one really difficult part where you must fight the enemy in quite a Dead Simple room with 4 pillars but with Arachnotrons on them + multiple enemies concealed behind fake walls, Ive died pretty much a lot there. Before you complete the level be sure to get all of the secrets because a Backpack, Soulsphere, Megaarmor and Plasma Rifle are godly additions to your arsenal that early, because the second map can kick you pretty much in the nuts. With the second level you must collect all of the three skull keys, they are scattered around a map + author decided to give you lots surprises to overcome, suddenly you can see dozens of enemies cramped in small places, grenade launcher is pretty good. I mean, when you see a 15+ or so Plasma Zombies that are really a difficult enemy in groups because of their unpredictable attack pattern, incendiary grenades love to cook or fry them really fast, just try to not get hurt because of it. BUT BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU LEAVE A SECOND LEVEL BECAUSE THERE IS A DEATH EXIT SO YOU WILL START A LAST MAP WITH ALL WEAPONS REMOVED, but do not be so mad or sad because you will quickly find a super shotgun with some ammo, nice. You will have to find last two keys to enter a final arena with a Cyberdemon at the defenceless Icon of Sin at the end, the episode ends once you unload anything at expoded brain of the Icon of Sin, then you are sent to the Void...

Cursed Cathedral is a semi-difficult map with over 400 monsters plus additional annoying Lost Souls because there are quite a lot Pain Elementals around here waiting for you, this map surely loves A-M-B-U-S-H-E-S. To make you sure that this map can beat you a little, you start in a tight corridor with few Lost Souls just ahead of you (In case of Project Brutality I was so unlucky that these were painful Phantasms, ouch). You will find an upgrade to your weapon or backpack just in this small corridor next to the bars, go down and you will encounter another arena-like fight, this time with dozen or so Imps and Pain Elementals ahead. After the fight you will enter a room full of lava with Plasma Rifle in the center and an outside area, do not feel so cocky because this is a place for some Hell Knights, Arachnotrons, Mancubi and even more annoying Imps. The outdoor area also holds up your first secret to find, this is a Soulsphere seen just when you enter the place, move on the ledge to grab and your first secret, then dont forget about grabbing a blue skull key. Return to the room with blue doors to be opened, this is where ambushes take a really unexpected turn - if you see these eye like sculptures you have to shoot them to open the doors or... activate traps that summon more monsters. Basically if you really want to survive while playing this map you have to find as many secrets as possible because Megaarmors, Soulsphere and additional ammunition are things needed a lot, dont forget about backpack too. To finish the level you do not need to explore all of the rooms and corridors, basically you can ignore quite a large portion of the map to enter a final arena but you will not be able to grab all weapons and secrets then. Unfortunately the map does not end with Project Brutality due to some kind of compatibility issue but once you eliminate the Icon of Sin, all other monsters on map are also dead triggering an end of the level.

Tormentors remake of the E2M3 Refinery in the style of Knee-Deep in The ZDoom (or more... The Shores Of ZDoom that was never released, unfortunately), it is an enlarged version of the quite basic Refinery map from DOOM. Basic, because Refinery was a quite simple level to be fair, flat + very basic layout with few secrets that did not make sense (shortcut fake walls between rooms that gave nothing at all) plus a music track that was just Intermission theme. All of it resulted in a pretty bland map that was quite short, had rather weak secrets and even barely fitted to the theme of the episode, but thankfully this remake added lots of things to spice it up, giving hellish climax. First, lets remember that the Deimos moon had been averted by the Hellish presence much more than the Phobos, thus the levels simply want to kill you and the presence of Hellish spawn is much more obvious and painful. This level has two versions, a second is unlocked once you beat the first one - the only difference is a setup of both maps, as first is slower and more horror oriented, while second version just puts way more monsters. Once you begin head to your right, there is a power switch that you have to use to power up the large doors at start, of course because its Deimos Moon, some of the enemies might be even tied... to the walls. Interesting that lots of the enemies here are a real hell spawn or even some sort of spectres, heck the corpses might be even alive for a while when you are next to them, even they might appear out of nowhere. Whole Refinery is basically destroyed, both realities merged - human and demonic, you even need a two types of keys to progress (normal keycards and skull keys), lots of places have hellish growth and flesh. There is a total of four secrets, five if we count the Soulsphere near the ceiling - a box of ammo in the first minute of the map, some Rocket ammo, additional armor bonuses, a Rocket Box - not much but its a honest work.
