This was the first of six compositions I wrote in 2004. I wrote this on May 1st. The long-awaited 1965 mod for the Grand Prix Legends racing simulator had just come out, but instead of downloading it, I suddenly got the urge to compose music. So the title is referring to music taking priority over frivolities. I composed another rag the following day, calling it "Frivolity Rag". Then I finally got the mod and started playing!
