Princess Akiko Mikasa of Japan visited the Şanlıurfa Archaeology Museum and the Ayanlar Höyük Excavation and Research Center, part of the Şanlıurfa Japanese Cultural Center Taş Tepeler Project.
As part of a series of visits, Princess Akiko and her delegation first toured the Şanlıurfa Archaeology Museum, which has a total area of 60,000 square meters, 35,000 of which are indoors.
During her visit, Princess Akiko closely examined the halls displaying artifacts from the Neolithic period at Göbeklitepe and Karahantepe and received information from Celal Uludağ, Director of the Archaeology Museum.
