In India-administered Jammu and Kashmir, the death toll from floods has risen to 60, with more than 100 people injured.
According to a report by the *Hindustan Times*, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah made a statement regarding the flood, which was triggered by heavy rainfall caused by a “cloudburst.”
Abdullah said that in the Kishtwar district of Jammu and Kashmir, 60 people—most of them pilgrims—lost their lives in the flood, and more than 100 were injured.
Officials stated that over 160 people have been rescued so far, but 38 of them are in critical condition.
Search and rescue operations for the missing are still underway, and authorities fear the death toll may rise.
