In a wilderness living or primitive survival camp, knowing how to make earthen vessels is an indispensable primitive survival skill. Wild clay is found all over the planet and it's one of the most versatile materials available. Primitive pottery allows us to hold and boil water, acts as a primitive cooking vessel, and even can be made into a primitive water filter. This primitive skills video is all about primitive pottery made easy for beginners! The process starts with harvesting, drying, and grinding the dry clay into a fine powder. Then temper, in the form of sand, is added to increase the earthenware pottery's resistance to cracking when fired. Once the pottery is dry we will learn how to fire pottery without a kiln, right in an open pit fire. Pit fired pottery is easy to make with a little basic knowledge.

Don't forget to subscribe to the channel. We're uploading a new video each week that features one of the following topics: archery, bow hunting, bow building, survival skills, bushcraft, self reliance, primitive skills, primitive bows, hunting, camping, fishing, and a lot more!
