The title really says it all... but despite Prey: Mooncrash slowly melting my brain with all the changes each loop, I'm in love. This style of gameplay is thrilling, stressful, and constantly forcing me to adapt to the Pytheas Moon Base with a full Semper Gumby mindset. Riley Yu's run had us pushing deeper into Pytheas Labs, chasing the consciousness upload, dealing with Phantom Genesis, learning more Mooncrash systems, and still finding time for me to gush over how much I miss a good first-person shooting combat loop. I know we have fancy Typhon abilities, corrupted hazards, and even a plasma sword now, but sometimes a good shotgun is all the soul needs.
