This film contains numerous shots of the crowd that attended Nixon's second inaugural address and footage of officials and honored guests on the platform. Following the opening prayer, Spiro Agnew is sworn in by Senate Republican leader Everett McKinley Dirksen. Immediately after, Richard Nixon is sworn in by Chief Justice Earl Warren, and Nixon delivers his inaugural address, in which he stresses the importance of international peace and America's need for reconciliation between blacks and whites. Following the speech is a benediction by Cardinal Terrence J. Cook and the singing of the National Anthem. The film closes with brief shots of the motorcade and inaugural parade down Pennsylvania Avenue.
