靑 "李대통령, 김용범 정책실장 사표 수리" 전날 사의 표명
President Lee Jae Myung accepted on Tuesday the resignation of Presidential Chief of Staff for Policy Kim Yong-beom.
Senior Blue House Spokesperson Kang Yu-jung told reporters this morning that the policy chief had offered to step down on Monday.
No reason was immediately given for Kim's departure.
The opposition bloc had been calling for Kim's dismissal over his role in pushing to approve single-stock leveraged ETFs in Korea, blaming the products for increased market volatility and losses among retail investors.
Kim had served as policy chief since the Lee administration took office in early June of last year.
