We’re waddling into another #WaddlerWednesday! 🐧
You might be waddlering - er, wondering - how do we prepare for the Penguin Walk, presented by WestJet Cargo? 🤔
We joined Valerie from our Animal Care, Health & Welfare team to show you the preparation - we warn you, it’s pretty fishy! 🐟
After confirming that the temperature and wind are within our walk parameters, Valerie and the team begin defrosting frozen fish, typically herring and capelin as shown here. These tasty snacks encourage our penguins to waddle and they also receive one as a reward for participating when they return to the Penguin Plunge habitat. Valerie also grabs paddles which are used to help safely guide our penguins as they follow the route to the Discovery Bridge and back. 🐧
Penguin Walk takes place daily, weather permitting, at 10:30 a.m., until mid-March. Penguin Walk viewing is included with your day admission ticket and memberships. Learn more with the link: bit.ly/3N974vt
