As Hurricane Milton approaches, Team Rubicon is prioritizing the safety of our Greyshirts while continuing our mission in other states. Vice President of Operations Jeff Byard provides an update on our preparations and ongoing efforts.
“Hurricane Milton is on pace to be a really, really devastating storm,” says Jeff. “Our primary mission is the safety of our Greyshirts, so we are at a safety stand down from our operations in Florida. We’re safely moving Greyshirts and equipment so that we can quickly come back in after Milton and do what we do best—help disaster survivors on their worst day.”
While operations in Florida are paused, we continue our efforts in Asheville, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Georgia. “This is a testament to how we’ve built the team—we’re agile. We can continue operations even as we do the safety stand down,” Jeff explains.
We are committed to returning to Florida after Hurricane Milton passes to stand with Floridians in their time of need.
