Recently Sega announced yet ANOTHER HDMI ready plug-n-play retro console to steal our money, however, this time they’re offering something truly unique: an homage to the famous Astro Mini “candy cabinet” from Japan, a piece of arcade hardware as ubiquitous to Japan as vending machines and giant city destroying monsters.
The Astro City was a JAMMA ready arcade cabinet popular throughout the 90s, but it’s still fairly common in Japan even to this day. It housed a wide variety of joystick compatible games from the 80s through the late 90s, and SEGA has already announced 10 games that are plainly meant to be representative of this fact.
But what other games might SEGA ultimately include on the mini cabinet? Join us as we engage in baseless speculation ON THE INTERNET. One of our favorite things to do!
