These us keep the multitude fed
And these us will take us into space
Leaving Jesus for dead

These us cure leprosy
These us help the blind to see
And these us enable the mute to talk,
The deaf to hear, and even, the paralysed to walk

We have taken the impossible
And we've made it happen
What we now call miracles
Will one day become ordinary

Our achievements never entered the godmaker's dreams
We have praised their gods long enough
It's now time to praise ourselves
And the redemptive power of our own minds
