In this segment I just scratch the surface of two 1944 General Electric steam turbines and their 45 Megawatt 3 phase alternators. Steam pressure is 900 PSI. These turbines together provide 90 million watts of reliable baseload power for the state of Connecticut by burning unwanted garbage in the boilers that supply them with steam and will, predictably, be taken out of service for no good reason this year. The trash that fuels this plant will then be trucked at great expense and fuel cost all the way to Ohio, where it will be dumped in a landfill and pollute the ecosystem forever.
