Exploring the mysterious internals of analog power factor meters and explaining how do they work. They measure the power factor of linear loads (resistive, inductive or capacitive). The power factor is the cosine of the angle between the voltage and current. It's 1 when the angle is 0 degrees (the current is in phase with the voltage).
