This is reel is all fun and games (though honestly, after watching the ANTM documentary, I wouldn’t put it past tyra) but being afraid of public restrooms is a very real fear for a lot of us with OCD.
It’s typically associated with a fear of touching germs that we cannot see or getting an incurable disease from the unsanitary conditions. Some people also experience an intense fear of using the restroom in public because they’re worried other people are listening. Whatever your OCD fear is, it makes it will usually make it hard to do simple things, like use a public bathroom when you’re on a 12 hr road trip or go to the bathroom with your friends when out at dinner.
The good news is, OCD is treatable and our specialized therapists can help you take back control and accomplish your tasks without being held back by OCD. (for example, I saw unflushed poop in this exact video and didn’t freak out how I would in the past!)
