In this video, we demonstrate posterior labral repair of the shoulder, performed arthroscopically using tensionable knotless 1.8 mm FiberTak® soft anchors.
The glenoid labrum is a ring of cartilage that stabilizes the shoulder joint. A posterior labral tear can lead to pain, instability, and reduced function, often requiring surgical repair when conservative treatment fails.
🔧 Procedure Overview
The procedure is performed arthroscopically using an anterior viewing portal and a posterior working portal for anchor placement and suture management.
A drill guide is positioned at the posterior glenoid rim, ensuring accurate anchor placement for optimal fixation and bone purchase.
FiberTak® soft anchors are inserted into the glenoid, and sutures are passed through the labrum and capsule using a suture-passing device to capture sufficient tissue for repair.
A mattress suture configuration is often used for the inferior aspect of the tear, helping restore labral height and improve joint biomechanics.
The anchors are then converted and tensioned, allowing precise adjustment of the repair without tying knots, while bringing the labrum back to its anatomical position. [Posterior...Knotless 1 | Word]
Additional anchors may be placed sequentially along the posterior glenoid to fully repair the tear and restore stability.
