This is the research station on Possession Island in the remote Crozet archipelago in the South Indian Ocean, one of the least visited places on Earth.

The scientists here focus on sub-Antarctic ecology, studying king penguins, albatrosses, and marine mammals such as fur seal and elephant seals.

Depending on the time of year, there are only about 18-30 scientists on the island, but over 700,000 mating pairs of king penguins.
