I personally feel a good handheld portable UHF radio, or Walkie Talkie as they seem to be called, is a necessity when travelling the Outback, Off-Road, or Camping, for such a small price, you have communication around your camp, or between 4WD vehicles, even if there is no phone coverage. To be able to contact someone back at your camp if there is an emergency is Priceless. To know where your kids are and can contact them, again, Priceless. This is not a review of the UHF radio I have; this video is about why I feel the need to carry them in the 4x4.
