Popeye is a classic 1982 arcade platformer developed by Nintendo, based on the iconic comic strip character created by E.C. Segar. Licensed by King Features Syndicate, the game was originally released in arcades before being brought to the Nintendo Famicom in Japan on July 15, 1983 and later to the NES in 1986.
In this nostalgic 8-bit adventure, you play as Popeye the Sailor, collecting items dropped by Olive Oyl—hearts, musical notes, or letters that spell "HELP"—while avoiding enemies like Brutus, the Sea Hag, and other classic cartoon dangers.
