In this video, I upgrade my Apple Macintosh Color Classic with a gifted Macintosh LC 575 “Mystic” logic board! A generous viewer sent me the board in unknown condition, and now it’s time to see if I can bring it to life inside my Colour Classic.
I’ll walk through the full LC 575 Mystic modification process to make the board compatible with the Color Classic chassis. Along the way, I’ll replace the dead RTC (PRAM) battery, inspect for corrosion, and possibly recap the logic board to ensure stability.
This logic board features the Motorola 68LC040 CPU (no FPU), but I plan to upgrade it in the future to a full 68040 with an integrated FPU for a performance boost. More power!
