Factory Process:
• A master carpenter starts with a blueprint of the design and makes a wood master (or pattern) of that design from the drawing
• Silicone is poured around an original wood master to create a production mold.
• A nozzle dispenses the liquid urethane into the production mold, which has been painted with a barrier coat. A lid is then placed over the mold, it is put under pressure and the urethane expands to fill the mold.
• The molded part is removed from the production mold and the mold is put back into the production process starting with painting it with the barrier coat.
• The high-density urethane piece is now treated like wood and is patched, sanded and cut to finished size.
• The product then is primed and ready for packaging.
Benefits of Polyurethane Trim:
• It will not rot; insects do not like it.
• Very inexpensive compared to detailed wood trim.
• Very hard, durable product.
• Very lightweight.
• Can be worked on with standard woodworking tools.
