The father of a 1-year-old girl who died Tuesday after suffering several broken bones and cerebral bleeding told police he played rough with his children so they wouldn't be taken advantage of when they're grown, a police report said.
The rough play the infant girl's father, Kevin Ray Taylor, recounted to police included throwing his daughter against a wall that was lined with pillows.
North Las Vegas police arrested Taylor, 20, of Las Vegas on June 4 for child abuse and neglect with substantial bodily harm. Taylor was on parole for child abuse with substantial bodily harm in 2009.
Kaitlynn died after Taylor's arrest, so police said they upgraded the charges to murder by child abuse.
