As a true crime enthusiast and researcher of the Manson Family case, do we really know what happened during the Spahn Ranch raid? The media wasn't there, and the story was given to them by the Sheriff's Department. As someone who has extensively studied this case, I have my own theories and explanations.
In this video, I share my fresh spin on the Spahn Ranch raid and the events leading up to the Tate/LaBianca murders. I delve into the question of why Manson and his followers were let go on two occasions and how the authorities could have missed their involvement in the murders. Was there more to the raid than what was packaged for public consumption?
Spahn Ranch was a 500-acre movie ranch located in the Chatsworth neighborhood of Los Angeles, California. Originally built as a set for Western films, the ranch became infamous in the late 1960s as the home of the Manson Family. Led by Charles Manson, the group lived at the ranch from the spring of 1968 until August 1969, when they were arrested for the Tate-LaBianca murders. The ranch was owned by George Spahn, an elderly man who allowed the Manson Family to stay in exchange for women and labor. Today, the former site of Spahn Ranch is part of the Santa Susana Pass State Historic Park.
