This drill focuses on a strong take off position. Hands are placed above the head driving the right arm up, hitting a nice strong take off position with a knee drive with the front toe turned up, dorsiflexion again, rolling the pole forwards.

Incorporate a strong dynamic step and holding the take off leg back to prepare it for the next phase of the vault.
Remember to drive the top arm straight and keep it straight.
Typically beginner vaulters will try and pull on the pole as they take off to get more height but it's a push action.
