• (4:08) Does NOBODY in this world use nicknames? Good grief…
• (5:05) Another forced "yes".
• (5:39) It's actually because of the special way the dungeon is structured.
• (5:47) Accessed via Hidden Stairs randomly in place of a Bazaar; it's basically five or so Swalot Grab Bags, except in boxes (wouldn't they be more expensive since they cost 150p each to open compared to Swalot's 100p…well, at least they don't contain Oran Berries). Appears in the following dungeons: Mystifying Forest, Sky Peak, Mt. Travail, Marine Resort, Lake Afar, Happy Outlook, Mt. Mistral, Shimmer Hill, Lost Wilderness, Midnight Forest, Zero Isle East.
• (5:47) Sky Peak's Secret Bazaars (scout them out with Eyedrop Seeds/Goggle Specs; if available, the staircase shows as orange instead of the normal blue) are insane, with all the stat boosters and gummis they sell…but you're going to be spending a LOT of time and money throwing out garbage while binge-buying.
• (6:23) You're going to regret that…
• (6:34) The lower half of the mountain is (unsurprisingly) Grass-themed.
• (7:06–7:12) Mountain "stations" seem to be a primarily Japanese thing; it simply indicates (loosely) tenths of a mountain from base to summit (so 3rd station would be 30% upways…and yes, I'm ripping this example directly from FF4's Mount Ordeals). Bases are usually developed at lower-to-mid stations. This structure is also why you can't do rescues here; rescues (and other missions, for that matter) are only possible before a midway point of a dungeon (eg. you can do rescues at Quicksand Cave but not Quicksand Pit), but here there's just too many waypoints, so the programmers disabled rescues entirely to prevent confusion.
• (7:14) You can go back to the café, now that everyone else has started exploring the mountain.
• (7:53) She's a crow, what did you expect?
• (8:07) You're REALLY going to regret that…
• (9:02) Inventory stocktake can be done at every even-numbered station (2nd, 4th, 6th, 8th); Drifblim's Gondola takes you to your choice of the village, 2nd, 4th or 6th stations once you reach that specific area.
• (10:17) Enemies can drop them too; either way, they're uncommon.
• (10:46) And a bit cheesy…but that's about what you expect from a JRPG.
• (11:22) Sneasel missing the point.
• (14:44) Here I thought Blizzard would be useful…nope, even with "go after foes" on, she wouldn't use it unless directly adjacent.
• (15:36) "But he started it, miss!"
• (16:12) Again, more obvious in Japanese.
• (16:33) Take your own advice next time!
• (16:43) Stormy Sea music, called "Sky Peak Coast" even though we're nowhere NEAR the sea…this area is a いわば rocky path, so I can only assume the translators mixed up this and Craggy Coast (えんがんのいわば Coastal Rocky Path). Music should've been called Sky Peak Crag for consistency.
• (18:43) Despite this talk of snow, the upper reaches are actually dominated by Normal and Fighting-types…they probably see it as some sort of challenging training ground.
• (19:39) I told you he'd regret it!
• (19:42) He's an Ice-type, the cold shouldn't be much of a problem…no, he probably just got careless. Reviver Seeds are important, kids!
• (21:11) Now is as good a time as any to mention that ひさしぶり is a Japanese set phrase, roughly equivalent to "long time no see". You've seen it a few times already, usually translated as "it's been a long time" or similar.
• (24:47) ayy
• (26:05) Context is important…うそ DOES literally mean "lie", but used as slang it can also mean "no way" or the like [see JP Demyx's death cry, which IS properly translated despite claims to the contrary]; this line (うそうそ) should've been "nahhhhhh" or something similar instead.
• (28:44) The ever-exploitable Seed Flare, Shaymin's signature move.
• (29:45) Obviously it has to be something cheesy!
• (34:07) Once you recruit the Shaymin on the summit (reach it again and talk), this one here gives you a Gracidea once per (in-game) day. Same as the main game, turns Shaymin into Sky Forme (that particular spelling is deliberate, since it's フォルム in JP instead of the usual すがた); it's a consumable in this game though, rather than a hold item as in the core games.
• (34:47) Sneasel was just tsun-tsun desu ne~
