Flannery and her minions, if you couldn't tell by the Gym, specialise in Fire types. Flannery's party all know Overheat, which is OP as fuck but reduces Special Attack by 2 stages.
I went with the Tank method again, this time with Combusken. Wanted protection from Fire attacks and immunity from Burns, but because Torkoal and Camerupt know Attract I had to adopt Combusken's very own Tank method.
I took out Numel quickly because of Magnitude even though it tends to use Take Down from time to time, and Slugma isn't particuarly powerful bar Overheat, but the AI is dumb as a sack of potatoes and Slugma likes to use Smog instead. So I exploited Slugma to get a 6x buff.
Sound trails behind because crap laptop.
Major events:
- Caught a Poochyena and taught it Rock Smash. Used it to smash Rocks until I found a Geodude. Released Poochyena and made Geodude my Rock Smash and Strength HM Slave.
- Boxerbird (Combusken) learned Bulk Up.
- Taught Lilly (Lombre) Secret Power, which I overwrote Nature Power for. In my opinion Secret Power essentially does the same thing, but more offensively inclined and no reliance on the environment for good damage.
- Keely (Golbat) evolved into Crobat.
- Obtained a Soot Sack and grinded ash covers for all the Glass Flutes. It was painful, I can tell you.
- Got Exp. Share from Mr. Devon for delivering his sodding letter.
