This is most certainly a gym that deviates from the norm, having 2 types instead of one mono type: Ghost and Dark, which gives off a theme of darkness, and reduces pokemon repetition. And yes, this ghost type lineup includes misdreavus.
Another thing to keep in mind is that shuriken. It can't be avoided, so you'll have to have a healing item at hand, and then talk to the gym leader.
Haunter: its kinda speedy, but not too difficult. It could try to curse you, but take it out as quickly as possible just in case it could try destiny bond if it has it.
Pupitar: Not a dark type, but it does evolve into one, but until then, grass and water.
Misdreavus: A bit tougher than haunter as it has no weakness to psychic or ground, so ghost (almost non-existent) and dark are the best ways to take this out. Night shade will always hurt.
Umbreon: Bulky mixed wall, but the best thing to do is hit it with strong physical attacks, preferably a stab super-effective fighting attack. However the bastard has confuse ray to fulfill its very unique role of a bulky annoyer.
Gengar: I really hate confusion... it never works when you want it to, but it always works for the enemies, and I can't just conveniently attack with the pokemon I have out when they hit themselves.
