This episode centres on the International Day of Women in Diplomacy – marked annually on 24 June to recognise the vital role women play in diplomacy, multilateralism and international cooperation.
You will hear from three distinguished diplomats whose embassies are co-hosting a special event in Bangkok, Thailand, to commemorate this international day and reflect on the value of international cooperation, inclusive leadership and the promise of the next generation.
They are Huda Ali Shareef, Permanent Representative of Republic of Maldives to the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia-Pacific (ESCAP); Nabila Suria, Permanent Representative of the United Kingdom to ESCAP; and Eun Ju Park, Minister-Counsellor and Deputy Permanent Representative of the Republic of Korea to ESCAP.
They share their insights into how women are building partnerships across borders and contributing to global decision-making with Norul Rashid, UN Women’s Regional Policy Advisor on Governance, Peace and Security for Asia and the Pacific.
