The teenage engineering PO-400 in a really interesting analogue modular synthesizer that comes as a build-it-yourself kit. I wanted to see if I could make a sound like the godfather of synths, Raymond Scott, with it. For this melody I’m controlling the sine tone oscillator with the op-z cv output (and an old midi controller plugged into the op-z). I’m modulating the frequency (FM) with a bit of white noise.
After that, I’m running it into some guitar pedals. I’m using the chase bliss blooper as a delay pedal that is changing the pitch and filter of each echo, a boss fender reverb pedal, and loop pedal I used to make the background sounds behind the melody (all of the sounds are from the PO-400)
I always avoided modular because I heard some many stories about people going crazy buying more and more modules. Luckily this one has everything you need to make sounds right out of the box so you don’t have to be worried about becoming a module hoarder - or broke.
