The is my first test of the Blooper Pedal from Chase Bliss Audio and Knobs. I thought it might be interesting to record a loop and mess around before I figure out how to use it for real. Sometimes instruments are most fun when you don’t have any idea what they are supposed to do. This is 100% that.
I just hooked up the OP-1 and started blindly experimenting and exploring. Blooper is a loop pedal, but it lets you do so much more, like re-pitching, filtering, resampling, you can even get granular effects. Sometimes I’m turning the knobs to affect the playback speed and direction. Sometimes I’m altering the start point of the sample.
If you want, skip around and hear different ways the pedal can transform a simple loop in to nice textures. There are some nice moments here and there. I can totally see this pedal being great for making background movement and grit in normal songs, or beautiful ambient tracks all on its own. Some of the sounds from this totally unplanned improvisation (that is too big of a word, really just noodling around) feel like they could have fit really well on our winter album.
