It has been a bit quiet around Mascot Horror games over the past few weeks, but a viewer kindly reminded me that Playtown 3 had been released. I have covered and archived all the other Playtown games in the past and they had a pretty interesting premise by having dinosaurs as mascots. Since then there has been a whole story written out that revolves around a war and inner conflict amongst these floating eyeballs.
Playtown 3 is the developer's biggest and longest game yet. You will face against different enemies and have to solve puzzles in order to proceed. Some of the new gameplay mechanics were pretty fun like the boat ride and I would love to see these features fleshed out more in future updates. Other puzzles were a little less solid like the one where you have to collect weights while avoiding a patrolling dinosaur.
Checkpoints often were good and you never were partaking in the same type of gameplay for too long. I do think the graphics and animations could use some polish, but overal its a cool new entry in the franchise.
