One of the most highly anticipated games of 2025 is Dispatch. This was made in collaboration with Critical Role and features multiple voice talent from that show and also famous YouTubers such as Jacksepticeye, Alanah Pearce and Moistcritical. The main character is played by Aaron Paul and the writing is done by the writers who also worked on the amazing Wolf Among Us.
We play as Robert who gets tasked with leading a team of supervillains as a dispatcher and sending them out on several tasks. Robert himself does not have superpowers, but has a giant mech that unfortunately gets broken. While the giant robot is being repaired he needs to deal with all kinds of problems and drama that involve his new team. You have to make choices along the way that will influence your relationships with several characters.
The writing and characters in this game are superb. Each character is distinct and memorable. Aaron Paul does a great job as Robert and pretty much all of the voice cast is spot on. Sometimes the dialogue can feel a bit edgy or cringe, but in general the story is great and I was glued to the screen the entire time.
Just like in Telltale games you also get to make choices here and some really have a lot of impact. I had several times where I was panicking a bit on what choice to make and I think that always is a good sign. The later Telltale games felt very much like a formula and it really did not matter what choice you made and it has been a while since I really had to think about the response that I would give to someone.
This video features the first 4 episodes and there are 4 more scheduled to release over the next two weeks. I cannot wait to see where the story will bring us next.
