Sony’s digital-only PlayStation strategy may be backfiring. With physical game backlash refusing to die, Xbox pushing Disc-to-Digital and game preservation, and new Gamescom rumors claiming Sony could be reconsidering its plans, physical games have suddenly become a major competitive issue.
Sony has NOT officially reversed its 2028 physical game decision, and the latest Gamescom reports remain unverified.
But if Xbox keeps supporting physical games while PlayStation moves digital-only, Sony may have handed Microsoft a massive advantage.
I’m not anti-digital.
Buy digital if you want. Buy physical if you want. Just don’t take the choice away.
