Last night (02-06-'23) I had the' opportunity' of a lifetime. And it was simply one of the best nights of my life! I went to see Pete Murray perform at Tivoli Vredenburg, Utrecht. When Pete started his song 'Opportunity' I was standing in front of him, asking if I can play it with him. This song means a lot to me in so many ways.
And because of this moment, it just became even more special! This song is about that very moment where I asked Pete if I could come on stage and sing it with him. 'Never miss an opportunity'. And this was my only opportunity to do this. This song was the very first song that I taught myself to play on a guitar. And here I am, playing on his very guitar in front of his crowd and also singing the backing vocals because they trusted me. I never had any lessons in singing or playing guitar, I just play by ear and memory. I still can't believe this happened to me and I am forever grateful! Physically and mentally I'm not doing so well lately. But moments like this make me appreciate life again and forget about all the bad things.
Pete and band: thank you so much, again! And thanks for all the nice conversations with you guys after the show. You really made me feel special, proud and very appreciated. THANK YOU! ❤️
Also a big shout out to the person filming this: Axel Karsdorp. He gave me permission to use his video.
