Rare Epiphone Les Paul with a Stunning Birdseye Maple Top.
Today I'm showcasing one of the most unique Epiphone Les Pauls in my collection: serial number U7021881.
What immediately makes this guitar stand out is its absolutely gorgeous Birdseye Maple top. While most Les Pauls feature flame maple or plain maple tops, this one is covered in beautiful birdseye figuring across almost the entire body, giving it a truly distinctive appearance. The figuring is so intense that it almost looks three-dimensional when the light hits it.
The top is finished in a warm amber burst that perfectly highlights the natural maple grain, while the back reveals attractive flame figuring in the mahogany as well. Combined with the cream binding and classic Les Paul styling, it has the look of a much more expensive instrument.
As both a guitar player and collector, I love finding unusual Epiphone models, and this is definitely one of the most eye-catching examples I've come across. Birdseye Maple Les Pauls are not something you see every day, especially with figuring this strong.
