The fault scarp at Lambafell, in the Þeistareykir rift zone of Northeast Iceland, records hundreds of thousands of years of plate movement as North America and Eurasia slowly pull apart. It has an accumulated vertical displacement of approximately 200 to 300 metres, making it one of the largest exposed fault scarps in Iceland. Impressive but hidden so this is one of the low-key landscape features that deserves more exposure, in my opinion. I had planned this drone mission ever since i found out about this feature in a geology report, but due to winds, altitude and often visibility, I only made the tour yesterday during a separate mission. And although i didn't get postcard light, and the sun's angle turned out to be suitable.
At the end of the video, to the right in the frame, you can see Þeystareykjabunga in the shadow, it's a shield volcano and i have a video from there online. Check my links: I dont have time to upload a lot these days due to how busy iv'e been chasing light, but i will get back to you soon with something...different :)
