See the Pattern | Plasma Red Shift @SeethePattern | Uploaded 1 year ago | Updated 11 hours ago
So far we have covered how the doppler effect causes a redshift, the concept of cosmological expansion as an explanation and then the idea that a variable mass could be responsible for making young objects appear more redshifted compared to older ones. One concept that appears in a variety of different theories is that it is the space in between which is responsible for the redshift. Cosmological expansion used the idea that the expansion of space caused this but what if space did not expand but instead the redshift was caused by plasma in the intervening space through which the light travelled? Ari Brynjolfsson came up with the concept of plasma redshift. What is it, how does it work and does it actually make sense?
