See the Pattern | Mach Principle: Inertia and the connection with the rest of the Universe @SeethePattern | Uploaded 1 year ago | Updated 11 hours ago
There is a fundamental issue in relativity theory. If all the motion is relative how is it possible to measure the inertia of a body? The only way this is possible is by measuring it relative to something else. This becomes more complicated if we consider a spinning reference frame. Is there a connection between all matter and the rest of the universe to communicate the notion of inertia? This is something that Ernst Mach became fascinated by. In this episode, we will explore Mach's principle and 2 alternative models to relativity which are able to take into account this principle.
