Plaits Palette is a new tool by Rubato Audio that lets you build and customize your own version of the Mutable Instruments Plaits firmware.
Rather than being limited to the original Plaits firmware, Palette gives you the ability to mix and match different elements and expand what the module can do. You can add Braids algorithms, new chord tables, DX7 patches and other features, creating a version of Plaits that's tailored to your own needs.
In this video, I take a quick look around Plaits Palette and show how the tool works before moving on to the more important part: hearing what it can actually do.
I use a number of the new sounds and algorithms in musical patches, exploring some of the different directions you can take Plaits once you start moving beyond its original firmware.
If you've got a Plaits sitting in your rack, Plaits Palette offers a pretty interesting way of getting something new out of a module you may already know very well.
