As part of our Capital District EV Drivers group, I took part in our latest drag-racing event at the Lebanon Valley Speedway with my latest Tesla Model S Plaid. While always appreciating a good adventure, I approached this with a mixture of apprehension and excitement. For starters, the car was barely one month old. In addition, the car with 1020 horsepower would likely finish the quarter mile at around 150 mph, a speed I had never experienced in a car in my whole life, and not only that, but since my insurance did not cover track events, I would be running at this never-before-experienced speed without insurance. But such are the things adventures are made of and I finished the evening feeling happy and exhilarated, with both my car and myself intact and ready for out next adventure!
