In 2021, Simon Fraser University started offering the course, ENGL 121, titled "From Plague to COVID: Literatures of Pandemic."

Taught by a team of instructors from SFU's Department of English, this course explores how English literature engages with, reflects, and interrogates pandemic disease, starting with the "Black Death" in the fourteenth-century and moving through contemporary literary responses to pandemic crises.
